Below is an early walk cycle test with “Dovegrubbe” the ‘stupid’ Troll! His cycle started on 36 fps but in the end we slowed it down because having all the fur and extra bits on him made it necessary to carry the weight in the walk. This early test showed how the shoulders and neck didn’t quite work well together in the rig so we made some changes and applied them to the latest rig.

I worked on the Trollhunter film when i was in Norway as the Lead animator. After about 80 different version of the shot below, and after the animation was finally approved and i moved onto another film at another company, the director changed his mind AGAIN! So that being said this was a very early test of the shot. Basically the character is really heavy so was weak on his limbs, and his right hand side of the body was freakishly disabled.
